Here at Natural Stitches, we are doing what we can to “go green.” For example, we have taken a page from the folks at Trader Joe’s. If you shop at Natural Stitches and bring your own bag, we will give you a ticket and ask you to fill out your name and phone number. At the end of the month, we’ll draw for a $10 gift card. Winners will be notified via telephone, as well as announced right here on the blog.
We’d also like to introduce some new yarns to you which are “green”:
On top, Renew Wool from Universal Yarn, which is 65% virgin wool and 35% repurposed wool, available in 7 eye-pleasing colors. This yarn is so squeezably soft, we’re afraid that Mr. Whipple might return from the dead to squeeze it instead of the Charmin.
On the bottom, Riveting from Kollage Yarns. The label tells us it is made from recycled blue jeans, listing the fiber content as 95% cotton, 5% recycled fibres (sic) from trimmings. It feels like the softest, most worn in pair of jeans I have, and I’m trying to figure out what pattern to knit with it. I’m envisioning a shell or tee, but this would also be great for baby items (think Blu from knitty.com).
Stop by soon to check out these and other great new items!
