We have switched around the classroom and the spinning section. I’m amazed at how much better we can see the fiber!

From Madelinetosh, we are pleased to carry fourteen colors of Tosh Merino Light. This yarn is a single-ply fingering weight perfect for shawls or lightweight sweaters. In a put-up of 420 yards, TML is an economical alternative to Tosh Sock in the same beautiful colorways for $18.50.

Our rep from Interlacements visited the other week, and we are pleased to re-introduce Interlacements with two new yarns. The first, Sweet Feet, is a hand-dyed Merino and Tussah silk blend. It’s a fingering weight that retails for $30.00 for a 400 yard put-up, and we think it’s perfect for socks and shawls.

Our other new arrival from Interlacements is their new Frizz yarn. Fans of the old Interlacements Kansas will be thrilled to see this DK weight rayon yarn. At a generous 525 yards per skein, we feel this is a wonderful choice for summer wraps, tank tops, and shells. Each skein retails for $26.00.

Today’s FO is Julianne’s absolutely stunning Leaving cardigan, knit in Madelinetosh DK in the Tart colorway.

Rachael became overwhelmed with choices and felt the need to get out ALL of the Madelinetosh Sock yarn when helping a customer choose her colors.

Zelda added her third color: Chartreuse, Forestry, and now Cousteau.

Helen chose three colors of Cascade Heritage Sock Yarn.

And I put aside my Color Affection in favor of a Stripe Study, by the same designer, in Candlewick and Tern in Madelinetosh Sock.

So addictive!

You MUST make a Color Affection. A shawl pattern available as an in-store Ravelry purchase, this bug has hit many of us. I call it the Color Affliction. The Yarn Harlot, after seeing an epidemic at Sock Camp calls it the Color Infection. (Check out her blog to see our frequent customer Colleen and her Color Affection.)

I spent, no lie, weeks going through my stash to find a good combination. Martha felt the sickness and calls her shawl “It’s All Anna’s Fault.” Her colors, in Madelinetosh Sock, are Cobalt, Sugarplum, and Cousteau.

Kelli’s is Saffron, Baltic, and Antique Lace.

Zelda’s is Chartreuse (a difficult color to photograph), Forestry, and Cousteau.

Jack is using a skein of Cascade Heritage Sock in green, plus two skeins of Madelinetosh Sock in Terrarium and Baltic.

And Connie is doing hers in Cascade Heritage Silk in Blue, Malabrigo Sock in Turner, and Berocco Ultra Alpaca Fine in Peat.

Frequent customer (and one of our winners of Summer of Socks and Lace) Diane brought in her Elowen Shawl, knit in Dream in Color Smooshy with Cashmere. Elowen is available as an in-store Ravelry purchase.

Our yarn rep, Andrea, brought us a shawl she’d knit in our newest yarn, Abstract Fibers Mighty Sock. The shawl, Stephen West’s Pogona (available in Westknits Book One) , showcases the Merino/Tencel blend in the Manzanita colorway. Each skein is 380 yards and sells for $26.00

Honestly, we do knit more than shawls. Really, we do. However, tune in tomorrow as I share our newest obsession…which is, of course, a shawl pattern. Sigh.

Jenn brought her Annis (free pattern on Knitty), knit in Madelinetosh Sock.

Yvonne was feeling camera shy, but here is her gorgeous Ophidian (available as an in-store Ravelry purchase), also knit in Madelinetosh Sock. The beads are from Crystal Bead Bazaar in Lawrenceville.

I wore a Land of Oz Shawl in Malabrigo Sock.

And finally, Zelda models her Rembrandt Neckpiece from the book Knitting Brioche in Malabrigo Worsted.

Lori knit an Andrea’s Shawl, which is available as an in-store purchase through Ravelry, in Panda Silk.

Jeananne brought in our second Shipwreck of the weekend.

Marie showed a beautiful, classic Swallowtail (a free pattern!).

Leslie designed her own shawl out of handspun for the occasion.

And Rachel brought in a lovely Laminaria.
